FrostWire functions in the same way as LimeWire because it is a fork of the program. Downloading the software comes with an Ask.com toolbar which you can install or uninstall at your discretion. However, there are antivirus programs which diagnose the toolbar as a threat. You should check on your installed antivirus if it will allow its installation.
FrostWire user experience varies. The first is that the concern about the restrictions on several downloading done at the same time is gone. This is because its code is based on LimeWire Pro which is a paid version. Users also are not irritated by numerous ads popping up since they have been taken away. In addition, the interface has been changed from green to blue.
The FrostWire version 4.18.6 has tabs which have rounded corners. It monitors the incoming and outgoing connections by host name and provides bandwidth, vendor name and version information as well. There is also a community chat feature that was built with the software.
In essence, FrostWire and LimeWire are virtually identical in every way except for the lack of ads which is a great convenience to users.
